AS 5039-tested security doors and window screens, custom-made to measure and installed across Brisbane by the two owners who quote your job — no sales reps, no showroom, no subcontractors.
Brisbane’s Owner-Operated Installers
Slideit supplies and installs CommandeX security screens across Brisbane — security screen doors for hinged, sliding, stacking and French doors, and security window screens for fixed, sliding, casement and awning windows. Every screen is custom-made in Australia to the exact measurements we take at your home, and every one we sell as “security” is independently tested to Australian Standard AS 5039.
We’re a small, fully owner-operated business. The same two people measure your doors and windows, answer your questions, and come back to install the finished screens. That’s why our customers talk about clear communication and tidy work in their reviews — there’s no hand-off between a salesperson, an office and an install crew.
Our biggest run is Brisbane’s northside and the Moreton Bay corridor — Chermside, Aspley, Bracken Ridge, North Lakes, Redcliffe and up through Caboolture — and we regularly take on whole-property installs south of the river in Sunnybank, Tingalpa, Carindale and out to the Parkridge new-build estates.
01 / Choose Your Screen
We install three CommandeX security screen systems. All three are custom-made and AS 5039 tested. The difference is the mesh — and for a Brisbane home, the right pick usually comes down to how close you are to the bay and what your budget is.
Most Popular in Brisbane

Best for: most Brisbane homes — strong, clear views, and storm and fire tested.
Bayside Specialist

Best for: homes within about 500m of Moreton Bay — Redcliffe, Sandgate, Bribie Island and the bayside suburbs.
Budget-Friendly

Best for: genuine AS 5039 security on a tighter budget, or replacing an old diamond grille.

02 / Security Doors
Your doors are where most break-in attempts start, and where you want airflow most on a Brisbane summer evening. A proper security screen door lets you leave the timber or glass door open without leaving the house open. We make every security door to fit the frame you actually have — no off-the-shelf panels trimmed down on site.
The classic front and back door setup. Fitted with a 3-point lock — the configuration AS 5039 testing is done with — and available in single or double (French) hinged configurations. A popular swap for older diamond grille front doors that look secure but aren’t certified security.
For patio and balcony sliders — the doors most Brisbane families leave open for the breeze. Sliding security screen doors run on their own track beside your glass door, so you get full ventilation with the screen locked.
Wide stacking doors on newer homes and renovations need screens made panel by panel to match. We measure each panel on site so the finished security screens line up with the way your doors actually stack.
Double hinged security doors for French door openings, plus patio enclosures that turn an open deck or alfresco into a screened, lockable outdoor room — handy for keeping kids and pets in and insects out.
03 / Security Windows
Ground-floor windows are the second most common way in, and the easiest to forget. We fit security window screens to fixed, sliding, casement and awning windows, using the same AS 5039-tested mesh as our doors, so every opening on the house gets the same level of protection.
For casement and awning windows that open outward, the screen goes on the inside so the window still winds open. For sliding windows, it fits the frame so you can leave the glass open overnight with the screen in place — the whole point of a security window screen in a Brisbane summer.
Screening every door and window in one visit is also the most cost-effective way to do it — the per-screen price works out better than doing openings one at a time, and the whole house ends up matching.
04 / Proof, Not Promises
Plenty of screen doors in Brisbane are called “security doors” without ever being tested. To genuinely carry the name under AS 5039, a screen has to pass independent knife shear, pull, anti-jemmy and impact tests. All three CommandeX systems we install comply when fitted with the 3-point lock. SecureView Eclipx and SaltWaterSeries then go further, with extra testing built for Queensland conditions:
That cyclone screen result matters in Brisbane’s summer storm season, when wind-blown debris is the real risk to windows and doors. And instead of screws or rivets, the mesh is held by a patented keyway wedge system with high-performance VHB bonding — keeping the stainless mesh separated from the aluminium frame, so there’s no galvanic corrosion around the fixings over time.
05 / Your Home
Brisbane has everything from post-war timber homes to brand-new estate builds, and the security screen job looks different for each. Because every screen is made to the measurements we take on site, the product fits your house rather than the other way round.
Builder-standard locks and the stock flyscreens fitted during construction aren’t certified security products. In growth areas like North Lakes, Mango Hill and the Parkridge estates, most owners have genuine AS 5039 security screens fitted after handover — and doing the whole house at once, before the furniture is in, is the easiest time to do it.
In established suburbs like Chermside, Aspley, Carindale and Sunnybank, it’s usually a retrofit — replacing tired flyscreens or an old diamond grille door with real security. Older frames are rarely perfectly square, which is exactly why we measure every opening individually instead of quoting from a standard size chart.
06 / Specialty Screens
The Building Code of Australia restricts windows more than 2 metres above ground from opening past 12.5cm, unless the opening is protected by a screen that withstands 25kg of pressure at three points. Fallsafe screens are designed to meet that requirement, so upstairs bedroom windows in two-storey Brisbane homes can open fully for airflow while kids stay safe.
If your whole home is screened, you need a planned way out. Fire & Emergency Escape screens open quickly and keylessly from the inside while staying fully secure from the outside — available in outward-swinging, inward-swinging and sliding configurations.
Pet doors: available across the range, with one honest caveat — once a pet door is fitted, that screen no longer meets the Australian Security Standard and is classed as a safety door. Most families fit the pet door to one screen and keep full security everywhere else.
07 / Colours & Finishes
Frames come in a wide standard colour range — including current Colorbond colours, anodised finishes and a Western Red Cedar wood-effect — or can be custom-matched. Every frame gets gold-accredited Interpon powder coating for a durable, fade-resistant finish under the Queensland sun.
A sample of the standard range — on-screen colours are indicative only. We bring real powder-coat samples to your measure & quote so you can hold them against your frames in natural light.
08 / Straight Talk on Cost
Every screen is custom-made, so the price depends on your actual doors and windows rather than a set menu. These are the things that move it:
Because we measure on site, the quote you get is an exact, fixed price for your home — not an estimate that grows once the installer turns up.
09 / How It Works
There’s no showroom to drive to. We bring mesh, frame and colour samples to your door, so you’re choosing in your own light, against your own frames.

It depends on the size and type of each opening, whether it’s a door or a window, and the mesh you choose — perforated aluminium (Xceed) costs less than woven stainless steel (SecureView Eclipx), with SaltWaterSeries at the premium end. Screening several openings in one visit brings the per-screen price down. Because every screen is custom-made, we give you an exact fixed price at your free in-home measure and quote.
Our biggest run is Brisbane’s northside and Moreton Bay — including Chermside, Aspley, Bracken Ridge, Taigum, Bridgeman Downs, Albany Creek, Warner, North Lakes, Mango Hill, Redcliffe, Deception Bay, Narangba, Morayfield, Caboolture and Bribie Island. South of the river we regularly do whole-property installs in Sunnybank, Tingalpa and Carindale, and further south in Parkridge. If your suburb isn’t listed, call us — there’s a good chance you’re still inside our run.
Yes. SecureView Eclipx, SaltWaterSeries and Xceed are independently tested and comply with AS 5039 when fitted with the 3-point locking system. That testing includes knife shear, pull, anti-jemmy and impact tests — the tests that separate genuine security screens from ordinary barrier screens and flyscreens.
A security screen is tested to AS 5039 and built to resist knife attacks, jemmying and impact. A diamond grille or barrier screen keeps insects out and acts as a visual deterrent, but usually isn’t certified security. We sell both and will tell you honestly which one each opening needs.
For most Brisbane homes, SecureView Eclipx — 316 stainless steel mesh with clear views, and it passes the cyclone screen and fire tests. If you’re within about 500m of Moreton Bay, such as Redcliffe, Sandgate or Bribie Island, SaltWaterSeries is built for salt air. If budget is the priority, Xceed still gives you genuine AS 5039 security.
Usually not. Builder-standard locks and the stock flyscreens fitted during construction aren’t certified security products. Most owners in newer estates have genuine AS 5039 security screens supplied and installed after handover — and doing the whole house at once is the most cost-effective way.
Typically 3–4 weeks from deposit to installation — among the fastest in the industry. After your measure and quote, CommandeX custom-makes each screen to your measurements in Australia, and we install as soon as your order arrives, on a day that suits you.
No — we’re a mobile business, so the showroom comes to you. We bring mesh, frame and colour samples to your home, measure every opening and give you an exact price on the spot, without you needing to drive anywhere.
Both are woven stainless steel security screen systems tested to Australian Standards. The main material difference is the mesh: SecureView Eclipx uses 316 marine-grade stainless steel, while Crimsafe uses 304 structural-grade. We’re happy to walk you through a side-by-side comparison at your quote so you can judge both on their merits.
Yes — pet door options are available across the range. One honest caveat: once a pet door is installed, that screen no longer meets the Australian Security Standard and is classed as a safety door instead. Many families fit the pet door to one screen and keep full security everywhere else.
