01 / What Is Xceed?

CommandeX’s Economical Security Screen

Xceed is one of three CommandeX security screen systems we supply and install — see how it stacks up against SecureView Eclipx and SaltWaterSeries on our full security screens comparison page.

The infill is a durable perforated aluminium sheet, custom-cut and fixed into an extruded aluminium frame using CommandeX’s patented fixing system. Because it’s made from a structural-grade alloy rather than the architectural-grade aluminium used in many other screens, it’s thinner and stronger — which is what gives Xceed clearer see-through visibility than a typical aluminium security screen.

Xceed is CommandeX’s modern, more secure replacement for a dated Diamond Grille, and a less expensive alternative to the premium woven stainless steel screens in the range. Every screen is custom-made in Australia to your exact door or window measurements and available for hinged, sliding, stacking and French doors, plus fixed, sliding, casement and awning windows.

03 / Why Homeowners Choose It

Real Security, Without the Premium Price Tag

Xceed exists for one reason: genuine AS 5039 security shouldn’t be out of reach for homeowners watching the budget.

  • Cuts heat and glare — the perforated aluminium infill doubles as a sun shade, reducing what comes through a screened opening.
  • Corrosion resistant — aluminium construction holds up well against everyday weather.
  • Clearer visibility than typical aluminium screens — the structural-grade alloy is thinner and stronger than architectural-grade aluminium, so Xceed sees through better than most aluminium security screens on the market.
  • A genuine upgrade from Diamond Grille — same perforated-aluminium look homeowners already know, but tested and certified to Australian Standard AS 5039 (with the 3-point lock fitted), where a Diamond Grille isn’t.

04 / Is Xceed Right for You?

Best For — and When to Look at the Others

Best For

Homeowners who want genuine, certified AS 5039 security on a tighter budget, or who are replacing an old Diamond Grille with something actually tested to the standard. It’s also a solid pick if you like the classic perforated-aluminium look and don’t need coastal or cyclone-grade testing.

Consider Instead

Right on the coast, or want the extra tested protection for a cyclone-prone or bushfire-prone area? SecureView Eclipx and SaltWaterSeries both pass the cyclone screen and fire rating tests that Xceed hasn’t been tested to. Want the clearest possible views for about the same install effort? SecureView Eclipx’s fine woven stainless mesh is a step up.

05 / Colours & Finishes

Made to Match Your Home

Xceed frames are available in a wide standard colour range — including the latest Colorbond colours, anodised finishes and a Western Red Cedar wood-effect — or we can custom-match a colour of your choice. Every frame is finished with gold-accredited Interpon powder coating for a durable, fade-resistant surface.

  • Monument
  • Charcoal
  • Woodland Grey
  • Deep Ocean
  • Shale Grey
  • Surfmist
  • Paperbark
  • Pearl White

A sample of the standard range — on-screen colours are indicative only. We bring real powder-coat samples to your measure & quote so you can hold them against your door frame in natural light.

06 / What Affects the Price

What Affects the Price of Xceed?

Every screen is custom-made, so price depends on your actual doors and windows rather than a set menu. The main factors:

  • Doors vs windows — doors cost more than window screens of the same mesh.
  • Size and opening type — sliding, hinged, stacking and French door openings each frame up differently, and larger openings use more mesh.
  • Mesh tier — Xceed’s perforated aluminium sits at the economical end of the CommandeX range, below the woven stainless mesh used in SecureView Eclipx and SaltWaterSeries.
  • Colour choice — standard colours are included; custom colour matching adds cost.
  • Number of screens — screening several doors and windows in one visit works out better per screen than doing them one at a time.

Because we measure on site, the quote you get is an exact price for your home — not an estimate that changes later.

07 / How It Works

Mobile Measure & Quote — We Come to You

We don’t run a showroom — we bring an Xceed mesh sample to your door anywhere across North Brisbane, Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast, measure every opening on the spot, and give you an exact price. CommandeX then custom-makes your screens in Australia, and we install on a day that suits you — typically 3–4 weeks from deposit to installation.

Straight Answers

Xceed FAQ

What is Xceed security screen made from?

Xceed is made from a durable perforated aluminium sheet in an extruded aluminium frame, fixed using CommandeX’s patented fixing system. Because it’s a structural-grade alloy, it’s thinner and stronger than the architectural-grade aluminium used in many other screens, which is what gives it clearer see-through visibility.

Is Xceed a genuine security screen, or just a fly screen?

Yes — but only when fitted with the 3-point locking system. Xceed meets Australian Standard AS 5039 the same way SecureView Eclipx and SaltWaterSeries do, but unlike those two, the 3-point lock is an optional extra on the Xceed range rather than a standard fitting, so make sure it’s included in your quote if security certification matters to you.

How is Xceed different from a Diamond Grille?

Diamond Grille is an older barrier-screen product, not tested to AS 5039. Xceed uses a similar perforated-aluminium style of infill but is CommandeX’s modern, more secure replacement — tested and certified to Australian Standard AS 5039 (with the 3-point lock fitted), where a Diamond Grille isn’t. If you’re replacing an old Diamond Grille, Xceed is the direct upgrade path — see our Barrier Screens page for more on Diamond Grille itself.

Does Xceed really cut heat and glare?

Yes. Because the mesh is perforated aluminium rather than a fine woven weave, it also acts as a sun shade, reducing the heat and glare that comes through a screened door or window — a genuine secondary benefit on top of the security rating.

Is Xceed suitable for coastal or cyclone-prone homes?

Xceed hasn’t been tested to the cyclone screen or salt-spray tests that SecureView Eclipx and SaltWaterSeries have passed, so for coastal properties or cyclone-classified areas we’d usually recommend stepping up to one of those instead — SaltWaterSeries especially if you’re within about 500m of the coast.

What warranty does Xceed come with?

Xceed carries a 5-year standard manufacturer’s warranty, extendable to 7 years. Extended warranty terms and conditions apply — we’ll walk you through them at your free measure & quote.
