CommandeX · Coastal Specialist · AS 5039 Tested
316 marine-grade stainless mesh with a heavy-duty powder coat, built for homes exposed to salt air — with a warranty extendable up to 20 years.
01 / What Is SaltWaterSeries?
SaltWaterSeries is one of three CommandeX security screen systems we supply and install — see how it stacks up against Xceed and SecureView Eclipx on our full security screens comparison page.
The mesh is the same 0.81mm woven 316 marine-grade stainless steel used in SecureView Eclipx, but with an additional heavy-duty powder coating specifically formulated for harsh conditions, tensioned into an extruded aluminium frame using CommandeX’s patented fixing system. CommandeX designed it for optimum performance in extreme environments: coastal areas within about 500m of the coastline, or up to 2km on an escarpment where prevailing wind carries salt air further inland — plus iron-rich red dust prone areas and heavy industrial areas, where airborne particles are just as hard on standard mesh.
Every screen is custom-made in Australia to your exact door or window measurements, tested to Australian Standard AS 5039, and available for hinged, sliding, stacking and French doors, plus fixed, sliding, casement and awning windows.

03 / Why Homeowners Choose It
SaltWaterSeries exists for the homes where a standard security screen mesh doesn’t last — salt air, red dust and industrial airborne particles all attack mesh and coatings faster than most people expect.
04 / Is SaltWaterSeries Right for You?
Homes within about 500m of the coastline, or up to 2km on an exposed escarpment where wind carries salt air — plus iron-rich red dust prone areas and heavy industrial areas. It’s also the pick if you simply want the longest warranty coverage CommandeX offers.
Not right on the coast, and don’t need the extra coating? SecureView Eclipx uses the same 316 mesh, is still salt-spray tested to 1,000 hours, and is our standard all-rounder recommendation. Watching the budget and comfortable without coastal-grade protection? Xceed’s perforated aluminium mesh is the more economical option.

05 / Colours & Finishes
SaltWaterSeries frames are available in a wide standard colour range — including the latest Colorbond colours, anodised finishes and a Western Red Cedar wood-effect — or we can custom-match a colour of your choice. Every frame is finished with gold-accredited Interpon powder coating for a durable, fade-resistant surface.
A sample of the standard range — on-screen colours are indicative only. We bring real powder-coat samples to your measure & quote so you can hold them against your door frame in natural light.
06 / What Affects the Price
Every screen is custom-made, so price depends on your actual doors and windows rather than a set menu. The main factors:
Because we measure on site, the quote you get is an exact price for your home — not an estimate that changes later.
07 / How It Works
We don’t run a showroom — we bring a SaltWaterSeries mesh sample to your door anywhere across North Brisbane, Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast, measure every opening on the spot, and give you an exact price. CommandeX then custom-makes your screens in Australia, and we install on a day that suits you — typically 3–4 weeks from deposit to installation.
Straight Answers
SaltWaterSeries uses the same 316 marine-grade stainless steel woven mesh as SecureView Eclipx, but with an additional heavy-duty powder coating specifically for harsh coastal conditions, tensioned into an extruded aluminium frame using CommandeX’s patented fixing system.
CommandeX designed SaltWaterSeries for coastal areas within about 500m of the coastline, or up to 2km on an escarpment where prevailing wind carries salt air further inland. If your home falls inside either range, we’d recommend SaltWaterSeries over SecureView Eclipx.
No — CommandeX also recommends it for iron-rich red dust prone areas and heavy industrial areas, where airborne particles can be just as hard on standard mesh and coatings as salt air is. If your home sits in one of those environments rather than near the coast, SaltWaterSeries is still worth considering.
SaltWaterSeries carries a 1-year standard manufacturer’s warranty, extendable up to 20 years — the longest in the CommandeX range. Extended warranty terms and conditions apply — we’ll walk you through them at your free measure & quote.
No. SaltWaterSeries is rated Excellent for both visibility and airflow, the same as SecureView Eclipx — the coating protects the mesh from salt-air corrosion without changing how much you can see or feel through it.
Coastal and near-coastal suburbs where we install it most often include Bribie Island, Redcliffe and Caloundra, plus similar exposed pockets along the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay. If you’re unsure whether your street counts as coastal, tell us your address when you book and we’ll advise honestly.
