Sunshine Coast · Moreton Bay · North Brisbane
Premium retractable screens from Reliable Screen Supply — for French, bifold and stacker doors, and for older Queensland homes where no other screen fits. Custom measured and installed at your home across North Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
The Right Tool
Most openings around North Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast are best served by a standard flyscreen or a security screen — and we’ll tell you so. But some openings defeat every fixed screen, and that’s exactly where a retractable earns its keep:
One honest note: retractables are a premium product. If a standard flyscreen would do the job for less — or what you actually need is a security screen — we’ll say so at the measure.
01 / Choose Your Screen
We install three retractable ranges from Reliable Screen Supply, each custom-made to your measurements. None of them is a security screen — here’s what each one does best.
Slim Roll-Away

Best for: front doors and windows where a fixed screen would crowd the opening — flat mesh rolls into a slim cassette when not in use.
Wide Openings

Best for: French, bifold and stacker doors — concertina mesh glides across spans no fixed screen can cover.
Most Popular · Pet-Proof

Best for: homes with pets — plus patios, garages and busy walkways. Tough alloy metal mesh that takes daily knocks and claws in its stride.
Please note: Durashield is an insect and light-control product only. It is not certified to AS/NZS 5039 and is not a security product.
Most Aussie homes have pets — it’s why the pet-proof Durashield is our most requested retractable. Please note: Durashield is an insect and light-control product only. It is not certified to AS/NZS 5039 and is not a security product. We bring samples to your free measure & quote so you can work each mesh with your own hands first.

03 / Straight Talk
A genuine security screen has to survive Australian Standard AS 5039 forced-entry testing — knife shear, impact, anti-jemmy and pull tests. No screen in the retractable range is tested to that standard, and no honest installer will tell you otherwise. Retractable mesh is engineered to glide and fold away, not to resist a break-in.
That includes the toughest of the three, Durashield. Please note: Durashield is an insect and light-control product only. It is not certified to AS/NZS 5039 and is not a security product.
What retractables do brilliantly is everything else: insects out, breeze and light in, clear views, and screening for openings nothing else fits. If forced-entry protection is what you’re after, that’s our core business — CommandeX security screens that comply with AS 5039 when fitted with the 3-point locking system. Many homes sensibly run both: security screens on the entries, retractables where reveals or spans rule everything else out.
04 / Straight Talk on Cost
Every screen is made to your exact opening, so the price depends on what we measure. What moves it:
Retractables are a premium product — that’s the honest truth of the category. We measure at your home, the quote is a fixed price for your exact openings, and if a standard flyscreen would do the job for less, we’ll tell you on the spot.
05 / How It Works
Retractable screens live or die on the quality of the measure — reveals, architraves and spans all decide what your opening can take. So we don’t quote from photos; we come to you.
Ask for a free measure & quote and we’ll call back to lock in a time that suits you.
We bring retractable samples so you can work the mesh yourself, while we check your reveals and confirm reveal fit or face fit on the spot.
Reliable Screen Supply makes your screens to our site measurements — custom jobs, not stock panels trimmed to fit.
We install on a day that suits, typically 3–4 weeks from deposit, and walk you through operating and caring for every screen before we leave.
You deal with the two owners from the first phone call to the final install — no sales reps, no subcontractors, and $20 million in public liability insurance behind every job.
Straight Answers
No — and that includes our toughest option, Durashield. Please note: Durashield is an insect and light-control product only. It is not certified to AS/NZS 5039 and is not a security product. If forced-entry protection is the goal, look at our AS 5039-tested security screen range instead.
Yes. Retractable pleated screens are made for exactly this — the mesh folds away into a slim frame, so both doors still swing freely. A single screen covers openings up to 5 metres, and double centre-closing screens span up to 9.5 metres. Bifold and stacker doors work the same way.
A pleated fly screen uses concertina-folded mesh that glides across the opening on a slim track instead of rolling into a cassette. Wind hooks keep the mesh on its track on breezy days, and the mesh can be replaced without removing screws or pulling the frame apart.
Yes — this is where retractable screens shine. When there’s no reveal depth for a standard flyscreen or security screen, a retractable can face-fit to the architrave or wall instead. It’s often the only screening option for older Queenslanders and heritage homes, and every screen is custom-made to the opening.
Gently — a soft brush or a vacuum on low keeps the mesh clear. The Simplicity range goes further: its mesh lifts out in seconds thanks to a patented design, the frame and mesh can be washed with boiling water, and a self-cleaning brush works as you slide it.
Up to 9.5 metres with a double centre-closing pleated screen — wide enough for most bifold and stacker openings. Single pleated screens cover up to 5 metres, our heavy-duty alloy-mesh range spans up to 8 metres with double screens, and every screen is made to your exact opening.
Where We Work
